Naan Kadavul
Naan Kadavul is about a boy (played by Arya), who is kicked out of the family house by his superstitious father. Frustrated, he goes to Vaaranasi, where he lives with the Saadhu, rebelliously growing his hair and beard. While away at home, his father, realizes he wants his son back so he goes in search of the boy but gets more than what he bargained for when he finds him… he is shocked and dismayed by the changes. The rest of the movie revolves around what happens when he bring him back to TamilNadu and some incidents that happen in Vaaranasi.
Actress Pooja plays the female lead . Pooja believes her role in Naan Kadaval will make audiences stand and take notice of her acting talent.
The casts stars Rajendran, a popular stunt artiste, director Singampuli, producer Azhagam Thamizhmani, an eunuch Keerthana and a physically challenged singer Kovai Krishnamurthy. Jaya Mohan famous composer of Tamil literary work has penned the dialogues for this movie. The entire star cast has dubbed in their own voice in order to be eligible for the National awards.
A total of 450 actors form a part of this film and this includes several handicapped children. Over 48 physically challenged persons, in their first encounter with cinema traveled to Chennai to dub in their own voice. There was a team of doctors on hand to attend to them during the shoot. This is the first time a director in India has made such an effort and for this he was felicitated on World Handicapped Day. Lyricist Vaali has written the lyrics for this film and the great legend Maestro Illayaraja has composed the music for this film. The film is to be released on February 6th 2009 and the whole of South Indian film fraternity is awaiting its release!
